Mary Sue TEST - 15 questions by Aqua999 Mary Sue TEST - 15 questions by Aqua999
DOWNLOAD FILE ^^

EDIT: Popularity of this ran out of my control. I expected maybe 10 people to use the test, but boom, I posted it today and it's over 10000 downloads already. So before you start complaining just listen:
I was pissed off by a Mary Sue tossed into my fav canon, so I created this 2-minutes-to-fix-up silly Mary Sue Test and posted it here because I thought maybe SOMEONE will appreciate. But now that you all came her and told me either that it lacks something or that it's perfect, let me admit:
This test isn't perfect. It have a lot of flaws, grammar mistakes and lacks of questions, for example about personality, natural talents, and some questions may be even neccesary, because if you don't put a said feature along with several others they don't make a Mary Sue at all. I KNOW, 'KAY?
If you enjoy - and as far as I see most of you does enjoy - I'm glad, have fun, learn something if there's anything the test can teach you, just don't take it too seriously. It doesn't work for ALL kind of canons, stories and characters. And you know what? You can score 40 and more points here and still have an awesome character, if you're only cepable of keeping them realistic. And you can have a huge null of points and have as awesome character too. It's not about points, it's not about you OC's score, it about what you can do with it. I don't give a shit about math!

I have issues with fixing the main file of this deviation, but once we're on the subject, and you want to know if your OC is a Mary Sue/Gary Stu, ask yoursefl few more questions. Since the test is for just a little-Mary-Suists not for extra huge Mary Sue makers, answer the following:
:bulletred: Does other characters act different in your OC's presence? I don't mean just looking away, but totally twisting their personalities?
:bulletred: Does your character have 3 or more well-developed talents that she didn't spend loooong time training?
:bulletred: Is your character having only either friends or enemies, and no people who just don't care?
:bulletred: Did your character change lifes of many on her/his own?

Front page is a dark place full of people who complain :icongodwhyplz:

Question.
If your eyes change from blue to teal does that make you a Mary-Sue?
Cause I've known a lot of people who have had blue eyes when they were younger and then grow up with teal eyes.
You should probably specify that it means to ridiculous colours like gold or purple.

Sorry if it sounds mean, but it's a good point. Hide this if you want.

Well, it depends on the series, my OCs changes eye color from amber to yellowish blue to fiery brown (rinse and repeat), but he possess the Conduit gene, and in the inFAMOUS series, the conduit gene influences the melanin to change color according to the host's karmic choices. Its a long story, for example, there's a girl with pink hair and neon blue eyes, all natural, because she is a conduit.

I have watched a playthrough of inFAMOUS-
But I don't see how someone having pink hair and blue eyes is a factor here. Yes, I am stupid, but to me that's like you saying "This chick has red hair and blue eyes woah"

No, I meant that color changing eyes doesn't always mean the character is a Mary-sue, it depends on the series.

Its really a proven fact, judge the OC from the series, remember that.

i loled more than anything when reading this, i recognizde pretty quickly many questions that were directly pointing at many of the features often found in uninspired OCs made by many peoples lol

I wouldve been curious to see where my main OC ends up had your test be more refined :P (he cant fit in your test in its current state :P)

p.s.: unrelated but i hate how : and P dosent make the funny faced smiley almost any other site use, it just look pervy here >_>
